This year, the third edition promises to be bigger and better, creating a festival of unity and athleticism in Dehradun. The participants will witness the breathtaking Nature Beauty of the mountains as they run through the picturesque route on 31 March 2024.
About Shaheed Run:
Shaheed Run is a marathon event aimed at honoring the sacrifice of our nation’s heroes, promoting a culture of health, unity, and patriotism and bringing together individuals from all walks of life to run for a noble cause.
Initiatives to Honor Our Heroes:
Col. Anil Gurung (Retd.) has announced a heartfelt initiative to honor our country’s heroes. In this edition of Shaheed Run, an eligible participant from a war veteran’s family will have the opportunity to join the event free of cost. This remarkable gesture aims to express gratitude and pay tribute to the sacrifices made by our brave servicemen and women. Category of Run:
Gurphool Singh, the most senior member of the organising committee, coach and a significant ultra runner, said that as our commitment to inclusivity, the event welcomes runners from all sections of society. They can be part of this Shaheed Run at a very nominal fee and pay tribute to the martyrs of the country.
Jagdish Ram explained that the categories will vary from a range of 21 kilometres to one kilometre so that the experienced runners can push their limits and the amateurs can also get an opportunity to participate in this festival as well. This event will also include the categories of 10km, 5km, 3km and 1km.
Discounts and Early Registrations:
Gajendra Ramola pointed out that the month of August will offer a generous discount of 45% on the registration tickets. Each subsequent month will witness a decrement of 5% in the discount rate, making it even more rewarding to register early and foster a spirit of camaraderie.
The significant ultra runners of the organising committee, like Alok Chhetri, Prabhjot Singh, Rajan Gupta and others, expressed their excitement and gratitude to pay tribute to the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers.
